In 2020, I led the complete brand identity redesign for Haku Collective, a Hawai‘i-based music and talent production company.
Central to the rebrand was a custom logo system built around a woven triangle — a modern interpretation of the universal “play” button infused with Polynesian design sensibility. This woven symbol, which appears in both the icon and the wordmark, ties the brand together visually while remaining strong and recognizable as a standalone mark. It represents Haku’s connection to music, culture, and storytelling in the digital age. I ensured the identity system was highly adaptable across formats — from merchandise, banners, and wristbands to seasonal campaigns and editorial illustration — while preserving its authenticity and cultural roots.

To further support brand cohesion, I developed a library of original illustrations and seasonal artwork that extended the logo’s visual language.
These included holiday cards, typographic treatments, and playful graphic elements that featured Hawaiian motifs such as ukuleles, native foliage, traditional foods, and cultural icons — all seamlessly woven into the new brand style. This illustration system allowed the brand to celebrate local heritage and connect with its audience in a meaningful, festive, and consistent way across print and digital campaigns.
