For Google’s 2017 Eclipse Megamovie, I developed a suite of animated illustrations in the Material Design style using Illustrator and After Effects. I began by crafting clean, modular vector assets in Illustrator—solar diagrams, maps of totality, starburst corona elements, and character icons. These assets were then imported into After Effects, where I animated transitions such as the solar eclipse progression, dynamic sun layers, interactive viewing paths, and citizen‑science callouts. I focused on layering, timing, and easing to create motion that felt intuitive, informative, and visually cohesive across themes like “What’s a Solar Eclipse?”, “Where to Watch?”, and “How to Participate?”. The final deliverables seamlessly married data visualization and storytelling, reinforcing Google’s branding while educating millions about the eclipse experience.
